What is the Minnesota Twins Baseball Fantasy Camp?

The Minnesota Twins Baseball Fantasy Camp is the officially licensed fantasy camp of the Minnesota Twins. It offers Twins fans — and baseball fans from around the country — the opportunity to experience life as a Major League player for an unforgettable week.

Held annually at the beautiful Lee Health Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Florida — the Twins’ Spring Training home — camp participants dress each day in a professional clubhouse, wear authentic Major League-style uniforms, and play games on the same meticulously maintained fields used by the Twins.

Campers are coached by former Major League greats, receive professional instruction and training room access, and relive the passion and excitement of America’s pastime — just like they did as kids, only this time in a true big-league setting.

Where and When is it held?

Minnesota Twins Baseball Fantasy Camp is held in beautiful Fort Myers, Florida at the Lee Health Sports Complex — the Spring Training home of the Minnesota Twins.

The camp is typically conducted in early January each year.

The 2027 camp is scheduled for January 9–15, 2027. To ensure you experience the full week of activities and festivities, recommended travel dates are:

· Arrival: Saturday, January 9 (please plan to arrive by late morning or early afternoon)

· Departure: Saturday, January 16 (hotel checkout day)

Arriving on Saturday allows you to register at Camp Headquarters, settle into your accommodations, and attend the evening Welcome Reception that officially kicks off an unforgettable week of big-league memories.

Who is eligible to attend?

Minnesota Twins Baseball Fantasy Camp is open to:

  • Players age 30 and older
  • Players age 25–29, provided they participate with an eligible relative (parent, grandparent, etc.)

Participation Guidelines for Campers Under Age 30

To ensure competitive balance and maintain the spirit of the camp experience, the following guidelines apply to campers under the age of 30:

  • May pitch a maximum of three (3) innings for the week
  • Must appear as a game starter
  • May make only one pitching appearance
  • May pitch only during Monday or Tuesday pool play games
  • Are also eligible to pitch in the Pro-Camper Game

Campers under 30 are not eligible to receive the following competitive awards:

  • MVP
  • Silver Slugger
  • Gold Glove
  • Cy Young
  • Rookie of the Year

However, they are eligible for the prestigious Kirby Puckett Award, named in honor of Kirby Puckett. This award recognizes the camper who best reflects the passion, positive attitude, sportsmanship, and love of the game that Kirby brought to the field every single day.

Our goal is to create a competitive, fun, and memorable experience for all campers while honoring the traditions and spirit of Twins baseball.

What is the level of competition?

Minnesota Twins Baseball Fantasy Camp attracts players of all ages and skill levels — from those who haven’t played since Little League to former high school standouts, college players, and even individuals with amateur or minor league experience.

The week begins with Opening Day stretching, instructional clinics, and on-field activities to help everyone get comfortable and showcase their abilities. Following these workouts, our staff of former Major Leaguers — who serve as team managers for the week — conduct the official team draft.

Teams are carefully selected to ensure balance and competitiveness across the board. The result is a fun, spirited, and highly competitive environment where every camper has the opportunity to contribute, improve, and fully enjoy the big-league experience — regardless of prior playing background.

How much playing time will I get?

Quite frankly — as much as you want.

Our format is designed to maximize participation and ensure that everyone gets consistent opportunities at the plate.

To guarantee equal at-bats, batting orders continue consecutively from game to game. In other words, whoever is due up after the final out of one game becomes the leadoff hitter in the next game. This system ensures fairness and keeps everyone actively involved throughout the week.

Beyond the scheduled games, our staff of former Major Leaguers are always available to provide additional batting practice, defensive instruction, pitching guidance, and personalized tips to help elevate your game.

Whether you want to play every inning or pace yourself throughout the week, the experience is designed to match your comfort level — while still delivering a true big-league fantasy experience.

Who are the former Major Leaguers in camp?

Our camp staff features many legends from Minnesota Twins history. Past camps have included greats such as:

Harmon Killebrew, Bert Blyleven, Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Kent Hrbek, Ron Gardenhire, Frank Viola, Glen Perkins, Jeff Reardon, Tom Brunansky, Rick Aguilera, Gene Larkin, Tim Laudner, Eddie Guardado and many others — most of whom have participated in recent camps.

It’s also not uncommon to see current or recent Twins players at the complex preparing for the upcoming season.

In addition to former players, campers work alongside members of the Twins’ clubhouse and training staff. Professional athletic trainers are available throughout the week to treat aches and pains and assist with injury prevention. Optional massage therapy services are also available.

How much time can I expect to spend with the Pro’s and can we take pictures and get autographs?

Without fail, campers are amazed at how approachable and engaged our former Major Leaguers are.

You’ll spend time with them:

  • In the clubhouse
  • On the practice fields and during games
  • At evening dinners and special events

They are always happy to sign autographs, pose for photos, and share stories.

Our camp photographer captures action shots, team photos, and special moments throughout the week. Thanks to generous sponsorship support, campers can download their camp photos at no additional cost.
